“I have a crazy story, first time we were here back in January, we went to Area Bar and everyone was having a good time. It’s like 2am, the club is just getting started, we having a great time, I’m feeling great, then the power went out and in Chicago, that’s a terrible sign when somebody cuts the light at a party, you’re about to get set up,” he told Manuel.

Chance stated that as he was trying to figure out why the light went off, everyone started chanting a popular song till the power came back on.

“I was thinking for a second and before I knew it, everybody was chanting Burna Boy’s “Ye”. About 300 people, everybody just kept dancing basically till the power came back on.

“But it was such a moment of solidarity and we do that in Chicago too,” he added.

Chance, who has since been back in the country after his first visit in January added that the whole experience took him back to his home state of Chicago where similar things happen.

“So it was me relating that back to experiences that I had in Chicago and just feeling safe. That was one of the craziest things I have ever seen in my life,” he expressed.
