I have revenue of $48,462 on tunecore alone – Medikal proves as he rubbishes claims that his money is not from music

I charge 60k to 70k per show-Medikal

People get to wonder where musicians who live flashy lives get their money from.

Rapper Medikal who is not exceptional of musicians who flaunt their properties, and show off their flashy lifestyle on social media, has come out, in an interview with Y fm’s radio personality Erskine to rubbish people’s claims that he doesn’t make his money from music.

Just some few weeks ago, in an altercation between Medikal and rapper Teephlow, the latter made claims that Medikal’s money does not come from his music revenue, since he is of the belief some musicians are not making enough money from their music, especially in a season like this where the world is hit with a pandemic where musicians don’t get to play shows.

Medikal responding to such claims in his interview on yfm with Erskine, said it is misconception for anybody to assume that musicians are not making money just because they don’t get to play concerts.

He refuted Teephlow’s claim, as he shows evidence of some $48,462 revenue, he’s made from his music on tunecore alone.

“ You can’t say because musicians don’t play shows, they are not making money. People stream our music online….In addition to endorsement deals we get. Even my dog got a new endorsement deal yesterday,” Medikal said.

According to Medikal, some people even benevolently gifted him plots of land because of his celebrity status. So if any musician would come out to say that musicians don’t make money because they don’t play shows, then obviously that musician isn’t putting much work into his or her music.

He added that, people shouldn’t assume that the likes of big artistes like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are the only ones making money from their music, because people like him and other artistes he made mention are also doing well.
