21-year-old UK born Nigerian, Mo Adeniran was on Sunday crowned the winner of the The Voice UK 2017 during the show’s finale. Mo, who works night shifts at a hotel, beat other contestants with his rendition of Iron Sky which had the judges turning their chairs. His victory left him in shock while his mentor, Jennifer Hudson, burst into tears of joy. “Thank you everyone at home, I just want to say thank you to Jennifer and all the coaches. An amazing thank you to the most phenomenal person I have ever met, thank you Jennifer,” Mo said after he was announced winner.
Hot on the heels of his big win, Mo Adeniran spilled all about his abusive foster upbringing. Chatting exclusively to MailOnline, Mo, who previously opened up about being saved by social services as a youngster, proved no ill will to his former foster carer – even admitting that he has ‘a lot of love for her.’
Speaking further about the five years following his adoption at age 3, he continued: ‘I wouldn’t change it because it’s made me a more understanding and well-rounded person. I don’t have any hate for her. We may not see eye to eye, but I actually got a lot of love for her,’ he continued to reflect on his life following his admission back into care.
Drawing further inspiration from his own positive outlook, Mo – whose debut single Unsteady has already soared to no.3 on iTunes – confessed that he had no time for ‘anger’ – placing his emotional focus on the people who love him.
