Stonebwoy says he is not responsible for Shatta Wale’s show cancellation at TF hostel
Famed Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, otherwise known as Stonebwoy has made it clear that he cannot be held responsible for the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s show at the TF Hostel.
Despite acknowledging his influence, the award-winning crooner during an interview on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 emphasized that he will not misuse his power.
It will be recalled that On the 8th of June 2024, a highly anticipated concert featuring Shatta Wale was abruptly canceled at the James Topp Nelson Yankah Hall (TF Hostel), causing a stir on social media. The Office of the Dean of Students stated that they had not approved the event.
Following the cancellation, there have been speculations suggesting that Stonebwoy played a role in the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s show at the University of Ghana.
However, during the interview, the ‘Into the future’ composer refuted these claims. He expressed his surprise at the accusations, stating that he had nothing to do with it and was unaware of their origin.
Stonebwoy further commented on the situation, highlighting the tendency of Shatta Wale to portray him as a powerful figure. He dismissed the accusations as ridiculous and emphasized that he does not engage in clashes anymore.
”I have power… But I cannot abuse it. That was really ridiculous to have heard that [I had Shatta’s show cancelled] because it’s just like waking up in the morning to being accused strongly of extra powers. You know I have power but...”
