Bravo KimGlobal consumer electronics manufacturer, Samsung is set to hold its first spectacular Week Celebrations in Ghana next month.  The three-day celebrations dubbed “Beautiful Ghana through the eyes of Samsung” is to unveil its presence and entrench its position as a market leader in the telecommunications and electronics industry.

Scheduled to be held from Wednesday September 7, to Friday September 9 at the National Theatre in Accra, the celebrations will include activities such as Samsung Cultural Icon and Facebook Photo Competitions,  Free Service Campaign and an exhibition of all Samsung’s latest technologies dubbed ‘the Experience Zone’.

According to the Managing Director of Samsung Ghana office, Brovo Kim, the Week Celebration is to enable Ghanaians from all walks of live to experience the technological innovations of the Samsung Brand as well as give back to the Ghanaian community in which it has operated over the past two decades.

“We are not just interested in doing business in Ghana, but most importantly being able to transfer our know how into this country in order to positively impact and make life better for all Ghanaians in this technological age”, he added.

Mr. Kim noted that the Samsung Cultural Icon Competition which is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and the Facebook Photo Competition are all targeted at developing the skills and talents of the young Ghanaian consumers.

He said the Cultural Icon Competition is to unearth young talents from Cultural Troupes between the ages of 13 and 25 under the theme “The True Spirit of our Drama, Dance and Poetry”. “Auditions for the competition will take place on Wednesday 7th September, 2011 at the National Theatre to enable such young talents to exhibit their creativity and knowledge on their cultural identity and values through dance, drama and poems in this era of Westernization”.

On the Facebook Photo Competition, Mr. Kim said the competition seeks to portray to the outside world the true hidden beauty of Ghana through photography.  He entreated all Ghanaians to take photographs that depict the theme: “A Beautiful Ghana” and upload them on the samsungghana Facebook Page between Friday 26th August and Friday 7th, September, 2011.

“The public will then vote for the best photo and the one who emerges with the most votes will be adjudged the winner and given awards”, he said.

The Free Service Campaign on the other hand, he said is a massive one-week Customer Service drive to be embarked on by Samsung to offer customers the opportunity to have their broken down Samsung gadgets serviced for free.

He mentioned that the campaign which from Monday, 5th to Friday 9th September, 2011 will take place at their Electroland Office on the Ring Road for all home appliances and the i2 office on in Adabraka for mobile phones services.

Touching on the Experience Zone” exhibition, Mr. Kim said the concept is enable both old and prospective Ghanaian consumers “to have a feel of all Samsung’s technological innovations ranging from our Internet-connected TVs, consumer-inspired digital cameras and the latest mobile technology”.

“We in Samsung believe that the Ghanaian consumers’ taste in technology has evolved with time and therefore it is very important that we provide them with that opportunity to choose from the best brand with beauty and quality”.
