Gospel musician Brother Sammy to face 25-year jail term for advertising approved HIV/AIDS medicine -FDA
Ghanaian gospel singer Brother Sammy has found himself in big trouble for allegedly advertising and selling unapproved products on social media.

The controversial gospel artiste was arrested over the weekend by the police in the Ashanti region following his claims that he had a product that cures HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases.
In a video which trended online, Brother Sammy was seen showing a clear-looking liquid which he claimed could cure HIV/AIDS, asthma, diabetes, blood pressure and other serious ailments. The singer also revealed that the medicine was spiritual water given to him by God.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the Public Relations Officer of the Food and Drugs Authority [FDA], Mr. James Lartey explained that Brother Sammy flouted the law by advertising his product on social media.
He said his conduct was “totally unaccepted” by the authority. “He is likely to serve a maximum of 25 years in prison if found guilty after investigations,” he said.
