I’m not a big fan of awards, they don’t define who I am – Wizkid
Nigerian musician, songwriter and record producer, Wizkid has said he’s not a big fan of awards.
The multiple-award-winning superstar made this assertion in a recent interview with British model, Naomi Campbell.
According to the “Fever” hitmaker, he’s of the belief that awards do not define who an artist is.
Wizkid explained that, his fulfillment comes from knowing the fact that his songs are touching people, and are well received by listeners, and not awards.
“I am not a big fan of awards…I have been very vocal about that, it doesn’t define who you are.. it doesn’t define your substance [and] it doesn’t define how amazing you are..
“At the end of the day you need to understand awards is a company bringing together a show and so doesn’t define who you are..
“As long as my music is touching people and they are feeling it the right way, I’m very content about it,” he told Naomi Campbell.
