Ghana’s first indigenous textile brand, GTP, has announced that it is set to become a premium full fashion house after 56 years of operating as a textile manufacturer.

The announcement was made at the official unveiling of the new GTP Brand and its tagline from “Timeless” to “Life. styled.” at the GTP’s factory premises in Tema on Monday, August 8.

The brand’s new image was unveiled at fashion show in which some of the best Ghanaian models strutted the catwalk wearing fashionable costumes made of GTP fabrics.
Customer satisfaction would be ensured through the repositioning process, according to Fatoumata Doro, Managing Director of GTP.

She said:  “As a group, we are very excited about the business outlook after the repositioning as it will give us the opportunity to do more for our loyal customers. This will be underpinned by our strategic digital focus serving our customers both online and offline.”

“Internally, the brand refresh has already begun with our employees through a series of policies and exercises to carry them along. We can already see the improvement and cannot wait to share it with our wonderful customers,” she added.

After the ceremony, Miss Doro spoke to the media and emphasized GTP’s efforts to support the growth of Ghana’s textile and apparel industry.

She stated: “We want to sustain our growth and become innovative and always come up with new designs to redefine our business. We are also going to provide support for about 5,000 Ghanaian tailors in about 5 to 6 years to come.”

The mission of the company is to create, develop, produce and sell quality African prints of Ghanaian heritage that will make consumers feel good and culturally in tune.
